Tips on Building A Successful Home Business
Today I decided to ride my bike up to Maroon Bells, outside of Aspen, or actually half way. It’s quite a grunt and I realized I didn’t have enough water with me to go all the way. A good excuse anyway. It’s similar to cycling up Castle Creek to Ashcroft, about 11 miles up the valley, starting at about 8,000 feet and it goes to Maroon Lake at 9580 feet. The first half is relatively easy, well, it’s not flat that’s for sure, but every turn you come around it gets steeper, especially after half way. You can check out my video. I was really worried because in one of my last videos it was really windy and you could hardly hear me, and it was pretty windy up there so I started yelling into the camera and waiting to talk until the gusts had gone.
On my way up the road I listened to an old fashioned cassette tape, (I’m using mp3 now on my iphone when it’s easy), of a conference call I recorded last week. I was reminded of a few important things when building a home business. Two in particular. First, you have to be committed. You can’t take on a business and not be committed 100%. Treating it like a hobby of course will get you no where. You can’t even say you’ll just try it and see if it will work. You have to kill any other options than staying with it until you achieve success. That will put you on the right path. You’ll do whatever it takes.
Another important tip is to be consistent. It’s like going to the gym. To achieve results you have to keep at it. You have to have a plan and stick to it. The second half of the year starts July 1st. Time to reevaluate your business, and make a plan for the next 6 months. What are your goals for the next 6 months, 3 months, month, week. What will you do daily?
And don’t expect it to be smooth sailing. Some days will be great, others will have struggles, some will be up one moment and down the next. You just have to decide if your worth it. It “Ain’t all sunshine and rainbows” as Sylvester Stallone says in Rocky Balboa.
So anyway, check out the great view of The Maroon Bells in my short windy video, and the photo I took last summer, and if there’s anything I can do to help you in your business please let me know.
